What is a Chiropractor?
A chiropractor is a healthcare professional who treats musculoskeletal health concerns with hands-on treatments, involving the manual manipulation of the spine. Through applying pressure with their hands, chiropractors may adjust areas of the body to ease pain and resolve any health concerns. Classified as a form of alternative medicine, chiropractic care has only recently started to gain traction as a viable treatment method. Rather than relying on traditional western medicine and drugs, chiropractors use natural methods to relieve and resolve pain in the body. Chiropractors use their hands to feel for and treat problems in the bones, muscles and joints. Using their knowledge and experience, they can also recommend patients stretches and exercises to improve their health, and in some cases, work in physical rehabilitation as well.
