Common Types Of Back Pain
Back pain is the localised pain in the back. Backache is the aching or soreness in the back. In other words, they are really similar. What's the difference?
Everything else! Backache may be caused by several disorders or diseases such as arthritis, slipped disc or even just muscle strain. It is not always due to back pain though; this is why it needs to be diagnosed by a doctor.
The doctor may then prescribe you treatments - whether its drugs or physiotherapy - depending on what has caused your backache and how severe it is.
Back pain may originate from many sources such as injury, infection, infarction (loss of blood supply to tissues), and muscle issues.
Here are some types of back pain:
Sciatica
Sciatica may be caused by pressure on the sciatic nerve. It is a symptom of many problems, including:
herniated disc
spinal stenosis
piriformis syndrome
cauda equina syndrome
lumbar spinal stenosis
lumbar sprain/strain
lumbosacral sprain/strain
sacroiliac joint dysfunction.

Muscle strain
A muscle strain is a condition in which there is tearing of the muscle tissue. This can happen due to poor posture, lifting something heavy, or simply overuse.
The term can be used interchangeably with 'pulled muscle.'
Bulging disc
A bulging disc is a herniated piece of the later between the vertebrae. This is often due to too much pressure or pressure in the wrong place which causes the disc to break and push outwards, away from its normal position.
When people experience back pain, there are many ways to address it by eating healthier, consulting a chiropractor, and exercising regularly.
